Meet the Authors

Lee Leibfarth, co-founder of PowerZone Trading, is an independent futures trader who designs, tests and implements his own trading systems. He first became interested in the market during college in 1988, and began investing in stocks. He is an affiliate of the Market Technicians Association, and founder of PowerZone Trading. His articles on trading have been featured in The Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities, Futures, Active Trader, Futures & Options Trader and Trader's Journal magazines.

A strong background in mathematics and engineering provides Lee a unique skill set for trading. A great understanding of mathematical principals affords the ability to build and apply mathematical and statistical models to the market. As an engineer, he is curious and determined to discover how things work, driving him to study and analyze the markets in depth.

Where expertise in mathematics and engineering allow Lee to explore the market in depth, a passion for education and competitive sport inspires him to share his knowledge with others. As an educator and writer, he has the refined ability to explain complex ideas in the simplest terms. As a result of his experience as a professional coach to Olympic level athletes, Lee is able to define goals and outline the most logical and realistic process for their attainment.

 

Jean Folger, co-founder of PowerZone Trading, is an experienced stock and futures trader who began active trading while searching for dynamic portfolio diversification. She discovered day trading and since has focused on analyzing and trading the intraday markets. Her articles on short-term trading have been featured both online and in Futures magazine.

Primarily a system trader, Jean relies on careful market observation and trade analysis to develop unique indicators and strategies for the intraday markets. She is a system researcher for PowerZone Trading.

Prior to trading, Jean taught high school English and psychology at a private academy whose focus was educating and training elite level athletes preparing for the Olympics.
